
Tragedy struck on Christmas morning as gunfire erupted outside the Chandelier Cafe and Lounge in Garland, leaving one man fatally wounded. 34-year-old Fuad Baranja was found lying in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound, after Garland Police responded to the incident around 7:55 am, according to the Garland Police Department.
The victim, identified by police, was transported to a local hospital where he later died on December 26. Witnesses at the scene of the Chandelier Cafe described an altercation that escalated quickly into a deadly shooting. Garland Police swiftly arrested 24-year-old Johnny Lewis III, charging him with murder in connection with Baranja's death.
Lewis, who now faces the grim reality of a murder charge, is being held at the Garland Detention Center. As of yet, the court has not set a bond for the accused.
