
A Fort Worth Christmas ended in bloodshed when Gavin Norris, a 19-year-old Haltom City man, was stabbed during an alleged attempt to assault a woman. The incident occurred at The Lofts at West 7th Street Apartments, where police were called late Christmas night.
Police arrived at the apartment complex around 11:43 p.m. and found Norris with a stomach wound. The altercation began as a verbal dispute and rapidly escalated when Norris purportedly tried to quickly become physically violent. The unnamed woman, feeling threatened, reportedly defended herself with a knife, stabbing Norris once, according to FOX 4 News.
Following her defensive action, the woman was able to leave the scene and call for assistance. Norris received medical attention at a local hospital for his non-life-threatening injuries. Further investigation revealed that Norris may also have resisted arrest and later committed aggravated assault against a public servant. As a result, he is facing multiple charges, including unlawful restraint and assault causing bodily injury.
The woman involved in the confrontation is not currently facing criminal charges, as she is believed to have acted in lawful self-defense. Norris, meanwhile, has surely to contend with the repercussions of his actions that evening, as details provided by FSK Hub.
