A routine traffic stop took an unexpected turn in Harris County when deputies pulled over Ray Murphy on Falls Church Drive last Friday. Murphy, initially stopped for a routine violation, was discovered to have a pending warrant for harassment.
The Harris County Constable's Office, lead by Constable Mark Herman, confirmed the arrest of the suspect. Conducted in the 2400 block of Falls Church Drive, deputies had run a background check on Murphy, revealing the outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
"Ray Murphy was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 7," stated Constable Mark Herman, in a report published online. The incident was documented in a post on the Constable's official Facebook page, providing details of the occurrence and the subsequent legal proceedings Murphy now faces.
There was no immediate release of information regarding the specific details that led to the original harassment charge against Murphy. As the situation came to a head on that fated traffic stop which possibly seemed routine at first glance, gave rise to the capture of a wanted man.
