Two women sent San Antonio police on a high-octane chase earlier today in a truck that wasn't theirs, and they weren't alone. The duo, emboldened by the presence of three unsuspecting canine companions, careened through the city streets, as reported by KENS 5.
It all kicked off around 3:00 a.m., with Castle Hills Police initiating the chase after noticing a white Dodge Ram barreling down Blanco Road at Loop 410—bereft of headlights and clearly not heeding the rules of the road. Rolling at "excessive speeds," the driver showed no intention of stopping despite police efforts. Her accomplice, in a daring leap, opted out via an escape from the moving vehicle at Cypress Street and Main Street and vanished like a ghost into the night, according to FOX San Antonio.
Bexar County Sheriff's deputies joined the fray, laying down spike strips at Culebra and Loop 1604 in hopes of curtailing the rampant ride. Their efforts bore fruit, as the driver eventually slammed the truck into a crash landing at Alamo Parkway and FM 1516. Both police and the deputies, after determining the truck's stolen status, took the woman into their fold for custody, and the three dogs were safely relocated, per statements from both news outlets.
