Authorities in Houston are on high alert following two separate pawn shop robberies that resulted in the theft of 60 firearms. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is now offering a combined reward of $10,000 for information that could lead to the capture of the culprits involved.
In the most recent case, on Friday evening at Cash America Pawn #62, located at 6120 Bellfort Street, officials say three unidentified males made off with approximately 34 firearms in addition to jewelry and cash. These suspects, caught on surveillance footage, were all described as young males between 16 and 20 years old, with distinctive clothing and footwear such as Nike Air Force 1 and Jordan sneakers FOX 26 Houston reported.
Several months earlier, on August 9, a similar incident occurred at Top Gun Pawn in Spring, Texas, where security cameras recorded three individuals breaking into the store and escaping with 26 rifles and a pistol. The perpetrators, as described by deputies, were clad in all-white attire, with one suspect notably donned in a "Hoodrich" hoodie. The trio left the scene in a white Chrysler 300 with distinct black rims, as detailed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and shared by Click2Houston.
"ATF is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to apprehend the suspects responsible for this crime before they commit any more crimes," said ATF Houston Field Division Special Agent in Charge Fred Milanowski in both instances. The ATF urges anyone with information to come forward and contact 1-888-ATF-TIPS, send details to [email protected], or submit tips anonymously via the Reportit app.
