The blaze, which tore through the Spring Oaks Apartments on Shepherd Lane shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday saw the Balch Springs Fire Department spring into action, aided by crews from Dallas Fire-Rescue, Dallas County Fire, and Mesquite Fire, as reported by WFAA.
Initial counts confirm that 12 apartment homes were destroyed, while another eight suffered significant smoke and water damage.
