The Huntington Beach Police Department and local authorities brought holiday spirit back to a family victimized by a burglary. On the evening of December 18, the family returned home to find their residence burglarized and Christmas presents stolen, as revealed in a detailed Facebook post by the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The suspect, a Black male with a beard, was caught on tape breaking into the home through the glass sliding doors and fleeing the scene with the holiday bounty. The authorities later recovered his red hooded sweatshirt.
The HBPD, partnering with the Huntington Beach Fire Department, provided donated presents and a monetary gift to help the family reclaim some of their lost treasures and ensure the children still awaken to wonder under the tree.
The Huntington Beach community leaders, including Mayor Gracey Van Der Mark, and associations such as the Huntington Beach Police Officers, Police Management, and Fire Management Associations, were acknowledged for their generosity in a heartfelt thanks posted by HBPD.
