The Irvine Police Department has launched a search for three suspects in what they're calling a high-dollar heist. The thieves made away with approximately $16,000 worth of sunglasses from a Sunglass Hut located at the Spectrum, officials said.
The department took to social media with its #FELONYFRIDAY campaign, requesting help from the community to identify the culprits. According to the post, which included a video of the incident, the suspects left the scene in a gray BMW sedan. Left with a significant inventory loss, the store employees were reportedly in shock after the swift robbery executed by the trio.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this theft to step forward. "If you have information, please email [email protected]," the police department appealed in their call to action. The Irvine PD also shared their plea on the official Facebook page, where the surveillance video of the theft can be viewed by the public.
