
In a recent incident, a man was arrested after stealing a bicycle from a Walmart in Irvine, California. According to a Facebook post by the Irvine Police Department, the suspect made off with a bright blue Beach Cruiser on Saturday night only to be apprehended later.
The officers responded swiftly to the scene and located the suspect, who was seen riding the stolen bike in the vicinity of Dyer and Pullman in Santa Ana. The man, identified as 47-year-old Francisco Javier Hernandez, attempted to flee from the officers. Despite his efforts, police managed to catch up with him and took him into custody near Dyer and the 55 Freeway shortly thereafter.
Hernandez is now facing serious charges including burglary, resisting arrest, and possession of narcotics. His run-in with the law has landed him in Orange County Jail as the legal process takes its course. The social media announcement of the arrest carried an additional message aimed at deterring crime, with hashtags such as #dontcommitcrimeinirvine painting a clear picture of the local law enforcement's stance on such acts.
