Alexandra Davis, who claims to be the daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, has refiled her defamation lawsuit after a judge dismissed parts of it last month. According to NBC DFW's reports, Davis alleges that Jones, his lawyer Donald Jack, and communications consultant Jim Wilkinson conspired to brand her as an "extortionist" after she sought to be legally recognized as his biological daughter. Davis contends that this campaign harmed her reputation, casting her as a "shake-down artist" aiming for a substantial financial gain.
In March 2022, Davis originally filed a lawsuit to have Jones acknowledge his paternity, but to no avail. A federal judge, referenced in a WFAA's article, struck parts of her defamation claim, yet allowed Davis to file an amended complaint. Her revised accusations, reviewed by NBC DFW, implicate Jones, Jack, and Wilkinson in propagating defamatory statements in response to her paternity suit.
Jones has remained mute regarding the legal proceedings, as confirmed last month by Wilkinson in a statement to ABC News. Despite the media's probing questions, Wilkinson avoided commenting on the fresh allegations. Observers continue to eagerly await developments in the case, with WFAA pledging to deliver timely updates.
Armed with sworn affidavits and court documents, Davis's legal team accuses Wilkinson and Jack of depicting her as attempting, to "shakedown" Jones. The recent filing claims the defendants either knew their statements to be false or harbored "serious doubts as to the truth of their defamatory statements," as noted by NBC DFW.
As the Davis and Jones legal standoff persists, the specifics are less clear than an improvised playbook. With Jones maintaining his silence, speculation mounts on the outcome of this dispute and whether Davis can penetrate Jones' formidable legal defense.
