A fierce inferno broke out at a media production site and event space, L.A. River Studios, in the early hours of Saturday morning, sending firefighters scrambling to contain the blaze. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported the emergency at 2:10 AM at 2800 Division Street in Cypress Park, where flames had engulfed the expansive one-story building. According to LAFD's alert, the structure measured 200' by 200' and at the time of the fire, it went fully ablaze with fire tearing through the roof.

The incident, labeled a "Major Emergency," required a vast deployment of resources. A total of 157 firefighters were on scene to tackle the emergency, as per the LAFD's news release. An event - possibly a wedding - had just concluded before the fire ignited, however, all attendees managed to evacuate safely. The firefighting crew was led by LAFD Assistant Chief Douglas Lewis.

LAFD personnel achieved a 'knockdown' of the fire in 84 minutes flat. Details obtained by the LAFD's follow-up report highlighted that the industrial building, spanning 11,120 square feet, was contained and the majority of the heavy fire extinguished.

There were no injuries reported among the evacuated staff or the firefighters. Authorities remain at the smoldering site to deal with persistent hotspots and begin their investigation into the cause of the fire. LAFD Public Information Officer, Captain Cody Weireter, was on the scene and available to assist media representatives with coverage of the incident.
