Firefighters extinguished a blaze tearing through a Pacific Palisades home early Thursday morning. According to a Los Angeles Fire Department alert, the incident occurred at approximately 09:54 AM at a residence located at 17840 W Lecco Ln.
The residence, engulfed by fire, was a sizable three-level structure reported to have been unoccupied when the emergency team arrived. An LAFD alert update revealed that "47 LAFD Firefighters took just 50 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish stubborn flames on multiple levels" of the burning building. The house, constructed in 1993, posed additional challenges due to its location on a hillside.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident. The fire was successfully knocked down by 10:44 AM. The official cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Assets such as Rescue Ambulance (RA) units including RA37, RA837, and various engine companies were deployed to the scene. In addition, specialized teams and battalion chiefs contributed to the coordinated effort to subdue the fire, as detailed in the subsequent knockdown announcement.
