The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is dishing out nearly a million bucks to community projects all over the Texas State, aiming to keep local heroes geared up and facilities in tip-top shape. In its latest generosity spree, the LCRA has awarded $996,929 to 45 community projects through its Community Development Partnership Program (CDPP). This cash injection is just the latest from the CDPP, which so far has loaded local projects with more than $51 million, as reported by KXAN

From the nearly $1M pie, four projects are taking home the lion's share, with $50,000 each. Among them is a top-dollar expansion for the Southeast Caldwell County Volunteer Fire Department and an upgrade for the pals at the Palacios Library.  "First responders need proper protective gear, updated rescue tools, and reliable vehicles," and this grant haul should help them serve safety to local communities LCRA General Manager Phil Wilson said, according to KXAN,

The story of LCRA's latest cash splash doesn't end there. Tossing more than $730,000 into another batch of 32 projects, the LCRA showed it's got the backs of first responders and community revamps. "By helping supply new protective gear and better, up-to-date equipment, we can make it easier for first responders to get to emergencies quickly, with top-notch gear at their sides as they work to protect people who need help," Wilson said, as per GoSanAngel.
