To bolster community development and spruce up the local hood, Lewisville Neighborhood Services is set to host a workshop that'll lay out the nitty-gritty of snagging some home improvement grants, courtesy of the municipal coffers.
The workshop, which is free of charge, is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m. and will take place at Thrive, located at 1950 S. Valley Parkway. Those in attendance will get the lowdown on the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program. Not only will they learn how these grants work, but they'll also get the scoop on how to apply, and, what's more, they'll tap into a wealth of other resources available countywide, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.
The Property Enhancement Program is like finding money in the couch—it's a grant rebate that'll cover half your costs for exterior revamps, up to a maximum amount. Love Your Block is all about bringing people together, offering a $500 reimbursable mini-grant for community-building activities—think neighborhood parties or little libraries. And for bigger ambitions, the Neighborhood Enhancement Program will match up to $12,500 for projects aimed at gussying up the 'hood.
All these grants are part of the city's master plan, the Lewisville 2025 vision, which paints a future of 'Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods.'
