
A tragic scene unfolded on Scenic Highway in Gwinnett County when a crash claimed the lives of three individuals, including a mother and her teen son, and critically injured a young boy. The collision occurred on the evening of Thursdat around 7:00 p.m., and involved a silver Kia Sorento and a white Yamaha motorcycle. Gwinnett County police reported that the Kia, carrying a mother and her two sons from Loganville, was attempting to turn onto Scenic Pines Drive when it collided with the southbound motorcycle, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The aftermath was grievous—the 37-year-old mother and her 14-year-old son were pronounced dead at the scene, while her 9-year-old son survived but required hospitalization. The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man from Snellville, also perished due to the impact. The authorities have not yet determined which driver was at fault in a crash that has now left a child without a mother and big brother, as stated by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Investigations into the tragic incident continue, with the Gwinnett County Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit examining both vehicles, which have been impounded. "Speed is being looked into as a contributing factor," police revealed, hinting at the complexities that come with untangling the threads of such a fatal encounter, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
