Gunshots shattered the calm on East Esther Street in Long Beach, where Long Beach Police Department officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon late Tuesday night. The LBPD disclosed that the incident occurred on Dec. 27, 2023, around 11:07 p.m., and upon their arrival, they found bullet casings as silent testaments to the violence that had erupted, as detailed on the official LBPD blotter.
Despite evidence of gunfire, thankfully no victims have surfaced with gunshot wounds connected to the event, and the case remains shrouded in mystery, with no suspects or motives currently engrained in the framework of the police narrative. The unsettling absence of injured parties leaves more questions than answers, and the LBPD's investigation continues to piece together the circumstances that led to the negligent discharge.
The LBPD has not released additional details regarding the investigation, however, they encourage anyone with information to step forward.
