The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is reaching out to the public with hopes of finding Lynwood man Dontae Rayshun Cottrell, known to friends and family as Tae, who went missing recently.

Twenty-year-old Cottrell was last seen on December 17 around 9:30 p.m. near the 11000 block of Carson Drive, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds, he has brown hair and brown eyes and is easily recognizable by his burgundy "Anti-Social" jacket, and black and white "Chuck Taylor" shoes. He did not return home and has not reached out since that night, which has sparked the current concern for his welfare.

The Sheriff's Information Bureau has issued a notice, requesting anyone with information regarding Cottrell's whereabouts to step forward. The Missing Persons Unit, dedicated to cases such as these, is the point of contact for tips that may lead to ascertaining his current location and ensuring his safety.

For those who wish to help but remain anonymous, "Crime Stoppers" is available by calling (800) 222-TIPS (8477), and an online avenue exists through their website. Additionally, individuals may utilize the "P3 Tips" Mobile APP available via Google play or the Apple App Store.

For up-to-date alerts and information, the department suggests signing up for "Nixle" messages or texting one's zip code to 888777 for urgent updates.
