Los Angeles FBI Highlights Manhunt for Suspect in Child Sex Crimes, Edgardo Feralin Dormido, Jr. Allegedly Fled to Philippines

The FBI in Los Angeles has cast a spotlight on a fugitive through their #FugitiveFriday initiative. Edgardo Feralin Dormido, Jr., is the subject of a manhunt for allegedly committing multiple egregious acts against children. Charged with five felony counts, including oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years old or younger and forcible lewd act upon a child, Dormido, Jr., is believed to have fled to the Philippines to avoid prosecution. His last known escapade from the law was on July 13, 2015, when he reportedly boarded a flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Taipei, Taiwan, and subsequently to Manila, Philippines. According to FBI records, Dormido, Jr., was charged by the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, on October 9, 2015. The counts against him include one count of forcible lewd act upon a child and two counts of lewd act upon a child. On June 22, 2022, he also faced a federal charge for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, leading to the issuance of a federal warrant for his arrest by the United States District Court, Central District of California.

Dormido, Jr.'s physical description has been widely disseminated in hopes that public vigilance could lead to his capture. He is described as a male with black hair, and brown eyes, standing at 5'4", and weighing approximately 130 pounds. He was born on May 18, 1974, making him 49 years old. The FBI believes he might still have family members residing in the Los Angeles area, which could potentially offer leads or connections to his current whereabouts.

The FBI and local authorities are continuing their plea to the global community to report any information that could close the net on a suspect who, for over eight years, has managed to evade the police.
