An early morning collision on Venice Boulevard in Palms led to a dramatic rescue operation by the Los Angeles Fire Department today. According to the LAFD alert, the incident occurred at approximately 10:11 AM at 11200 W Venice Boulevard, involving a two-car collision with one car overturned. Initial reports stated that at least one person was trapped inside their vehicle, prompting firefighters to initiate an auto-extrication operation.
Firefighters from stations including FS 62 and Batt 4 rushed to the scene as part of the West Bureau's emergency response. An error in initial reports complicated the understanding of the event, stating that there were two vehicles involved when, in fact, it was a single-car affair.
The situation was swiftly updated as the LAFD provided new information, clarifying that the collision was a single-car incident. By 10:29 AM, the patient was safely extricated from the wreckage by the attending rescue teams.
