An early morning blaze that erupted behind a Boyle Heights residence on Wednesday was swiftly extinguished by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire, reported at 9:29 AM at 1616 E Pennsylvania Avenue, began outside before spreading to the attic of the two-story home, according to LAFD ALERT.
Responding crews from the department were able to fully suppress the flames within 23 minutes, containing the damage to the residential triplex. The residence was noted for its 1900-construction vintage and 1,956-square-foot expanse. This operation was completed without injury, yet the cause of the fire remains under official inquiry. LAFD's follow-up announcement specified the efficient response from 38 firefighters who tackled the challenge, while residents breathed a relieving sigh as the danger subsided, and no injuries were reported.
Investigators are now sifting through the aftermath, pointing their expertise toward uncovering the cause of the fire.
