
Los Angeles firefighters responded to a blaze that engulfed a single-family home in Chatsworth early this morning. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the one-story dwelling on 20652 W Lassen St. at approximately 8:31 AM, according to an alert posted on their official website.
The firefighting efforts were comprised of 44 firefighters, who were able to extinguish the fire in just 13 minutes. The incident occurred in Council District 12 and the response included units FS 107, Batt 15, and Valley Bureau, as per information provided by LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart.
Further reports from the LAFD confirmed that the fire was contained in a single mobile home unit, ensuring no spread to neighboring homes. Critical resources at the scene included Battalion Chiefs 15 and 17, Engines 103, 104, 107, 287, 296, and 8, as well as Truck Companies 87 and 96, among others. Rescue ambulances RA106, RA107, and RA72 were on the scene as precautionary measures.

Continuing the efforts, firefighters remained on site following the knockdown to perform salvage and overhaul operations, ensuring all potential hotspots were addressed and ruling out any chance of reignition. Details about the cause of the fire have not been released, and investigations are likely to follow as standard procedure after such incidents.
