
Flames ripped through a home in Winnetka yesterday as the Los Angeles Fire Department battled a fierce blaze that erupted in the early afternoon. The fire, which produced heavy smoke and flames at a one-story residence at 8043 N Tunney Ave, was met with an aggressive offensive attack by firefighters.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred at approximately 1:44 PM on December 13th, with fire crews quickly mobilizing to confront the conflagration. Firefighters were dispatched from Station 104 and several other local battalions in an attempt to quickly bring the situation under control.
Brian Humphrey, a spokesperson for the fire department, said, "Offensive fire attack against heavy smoke and fire to the rear of a one-story home." The LAFD also reported that despite the intensity of the fire, no neighboring houses were damaged, and no civilians were reported injured.
Units responding to the scene included Battalion Chiefs 15 and 17, Engines 103, 104, 273, and 296, along with Trucks 73 and 96. Paramedic teams from RA104 and RA73 also attended the scene to provide emergency medical services if required. The response was coordinated under the Valley Bureau's jurisdiction and was outside the city council's direct district.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and no further details regarding the extent of the damage or the possible cause have been released. Authorities are continuing to assess the aftermath of the blaze and ensure the safety of the residents and the neighborhood.
