A man in southwest Atlanta was shot on Tuesday afternoon, authorities disclosed. Sustaining gunshot injuries, the 40-year-old, whose identity remains undisclosed, was hospitalized following the roadside attack on North Camp Creek Parkway, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
The incident unfolded just before 5:45 p.m., where police believe the man was driving and subsequently fired upon by an occupant of another vehicle, as he navigated the parkway. Struck by bullets that seemed to come out of nowhere, the man managed to continue driving until reaching the vicinity of Stone Hogan Connector where police later discovered him, according to authorities.
Atlanta News First reported that the man was "alert, conscious, and breathing" at the time emergency responders arrived to assist him. Medics transported him to a local hospital where reports indicate he was in stable condition and expected to make a recovery.
While the shooting's motive remains unknown, the search for the perpetrator is active and ongoing. Officials have not yet identified a motive or any suspects in the afternoon shooting, urging community members with information to step forward.
