A routine evening on the West Side took a violent turn when a man was shot in the stomach outside his home. The altercation erupted at around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, near Castroville Road and El Paso Street, when two men working on a vehicle were approached by a black car, as reported by FOX San Antonio.
The conversation quickly escalated, according to police, ending with gunfire that sent a 53-year-old man to University Hospital with a stomach wound. According to FOX San Antonio, the victim, whose name has not been released, is expected to recover from the incident. The driver of the black vehicle, meanwhile, sped away before law enforcement arrived on the scene.
Further details emerged from a follow-up by KENS 5, stating that the victim and his companion did not know their assailant. As of now, the suspect remains at large, and the motive behind the shooting is unclear, sparking an ongoing investigation by San Antonio Police.
