Chaos erupted at the MBTA Wonderland parking garage early Christmas Eve when a man allegedly went on a window-smashing spree before vanishing into the night. Authorities said that Transit Police Department (TPD) officers were called to the scene around 2:15 AM following reports of the destruction.
The male suspect is said to have used an unidentified object to shatter several windowpanes before fleeing the scene.
Details about the suspect or his motivations have not been made public as of now, and it remains unclear whether the man was caught on surveillance cameras during the incident. The TPD has not released information regarding the cost of the damages or whether this act was part of a larger pattern of vandalism in the area.
Authorities have yet to completely restore the garage to its pre-vandalism state.
The MBTA Transit Police Department has asked anyone with information to step forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The TPD's official statement and call for public assistance were posted on MBTA Transit Police's X.
