Chaos erupted on Walnut Creek Street when a brazen trio, decked out in black and masked like specters, swooped in for a violent heist. The attack left victims battered and stripped of their belongings, but swift police action has since brought two suspects to the bar of justice.
The drama unfolded on December 5, around 7:36 p.m., on the 1500 block of Bonanza St. Victims reported an armed robbery at gunpoint, with one suspect flaunting a dark handgun and demanding wallets and bags. The robbers, merciless in their approach, struck one victim with the weapon before vanishing into the night in a white Lexus, a getaway chariot as stark as their attire. The assaulted victim received treatment for minor injuries at the scene, reminding onlookers of the fragility, of safety in the suburban enclave, according to Walnut Creek Police Department.
Detectives, working in concert with the Oakland Police Department, didn't let the case grow cold. The white Lexus, a silent witness to the night's turmoil, was found in Oakland. This discovery led to the arrest of Elias Alcorn and Daymonee Johnson, pulling them from the shadows into the stark light of a jail cell. Officers managed to recover stolen property, a small victory in the restoration of order.
The pair now face a grim list of charges, including robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Housed at the Martinez Detention Facility, their bail is set high at $250,000, a sum that screams the seriousness of their alleged crimes. Further investigative leads are being pursued as the specter of a third suspect lingers unresolved.
