Two Minneapolis police officers were injured in the line of duty late Monday night after responding to a distressing scene where a man was reportedly assaulting a woman downtown. Upon attempting to intervene, the officer became the target of the suspect's violence, as he was punched repeatedly and forced to the ground.
Backup swiftly arrived, and a second officer managed to pull the assailant away. Yet this intervention was not without consequence as both officers sustained injuries in the altercation. While it was initially unclear how the officers were injured, Minneapolis Police later confirmed that the threat was contained.
