Chaos reigned in Mountain View yesterday morning following a severe crash that left two teenagers nursing major injuries. The violent encounter between a black sedan and an unyielding tree occurred at the intersection of Sonia Way and Miramonte Avenue, police confirmed.

The Mountain View Police Department was alerted to the crash shortly before 10 a.m. in a statement on their official X account, with traffic disruptions projected to last several hours. Responders from the Mountain View PD and the Mountain View Fire Department found the car impaled against the tree on the driveway of a residence, with three teenagers at the scene, according to KRON.

Officials transported all three teens to a local hospital, with at least two of them suffering from serious injuries. The updates on their current state have not been released.

In the aftermath, local traffic continues to suffer, with authorities urging commuters to exercise patience and seek alternate routes. The collision has morphed a usually peaceful intersection into a site of investigation and concern, spotlighting the dangers lurking on our roadways.
