Deputies responding to a medical aid call on a Needles, CA street wound up arresting a local man for fighting with law enforcement. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported that 46-year-old Wendell Jackson of Needles became aggressive with deputies on the afternoon of December 18.
Upon their arrival at the intersection of Clary Dr. and Lilly Hill Dr. for what appeared to be a routine medical situation, deputies were confronted by an uncooperative Jackson. According to a press release, the suspect launched into a physical altercation, attempting to strike and kick the officers multiple times.
On his way to the High Desert Detention Center, he continued to assault deputies, causing minor injuries to one. Despite not requiring medical treatment, the incident persisted, heightening tensions. Once at the detention center, Jackson was booked for obstructing/resisting an officer, with bail set at $30,000.
The Sheriff-Coroner for San Bernardino County, Shannon D. Dicus, has confirmed the arrest. Meanwhile, Deputy M. Bush was handling allegations following the altercation. Authorities are calling on anyone with further knowledge to step forward, offering confidentiality through the We Tip Hotline.
