The Department of Sanitation Services in Dallas has announced that trash and recycling pickups for all Sanitation customers will be sliding down the calendar for the weeks of December 25 and January 1, both Mondays being Christmas Day and New Year's Day, respectively, according to the City of Dallas.
The office of holiday spirits and merriment won't be stopping by the garbage bins, as pickups are a no-go on both December 25 and January 1. And in the spirit of giving, or perhaps receiving a day late, the rest of the week's collections will follow suit, each a day later than the norm. This means the usual Monday route will be pushed to Tuesday, then Tuesday's route to Wednesday, and so on, rolling right into Saturday.
he usual sanctuaries for waste, McCommas Bluff Landfill, and the city’s transfer stations will join in on the holiday shutdown.
