A tragic incident unfolded on a remote ranch near Christoval, Texas, as a small plane crashed, taking the lives of two individuals on Thursday afternoon. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed there were no survivors in the wreckage found in Tom Green County.
The ill-fated Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, which had flown in from Florida, met its demise approximately 20 miles south of San Angelo. Just minutes before the fatal incident, the pilot communicated distress, reportedly stating, "We got a problem," according to a MySA report. This was to be quickly followed by the craft crashing near its intended San Angelo Airport destination.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed the crash occurred around noon, with federal authorities joining local first responders in locating the crash site with assistance from Customs and Border Patrol. Weather conditions reported by DPS at the time included clouds and intermittent rain, which could potentially have played a role in the incident.
At present, the identities of the deceased have not been disclosed as the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board continue to thoroughly investigate what has caused this heartbreaking crash. Both agencies are expected to take over the investigation to examine every detail, hoping to piece together the narrative that led to the disaster. Meanwhile, a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety emphasized that a vigorous search of the surrounding area was conducted, but regrettably, "there were no survivors found," as reported by the San Antonio Express-News.
