
The Oakland Police Department is asking for the public's aid in capturing a suspect tied to a spree of commercial burglaries, as they released surveillance footage related to the crimes that occurred earlier this week. The videos show a suspect using a vehicle to ram into businesses during two separate incidents on December 19, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Officials reported that the brute-force break-ins took place within a short window of time, the first jolting the 400 block of 25th Street just before the breaking of dawn at 7 AM, shortly followed by the second assault on the 2400 block of Broadway which happened just after the area stirred awake at 7:15 AM, the OPD is pouring over clues hoping the community can provide information leading to an arrest.
In a bid to apprehend the individual responsible for these destructive break-ins, the OPD Burglary Unit earnestly requests that anyone with information come forward; they can be contacted at (510) 238-3951. The authorities have not yet released details on the items stolen or the extent of the property damage incurred during the burglaries.
