The Oakland Police Department is putting out an urgent call to the public for help in locating James Broussard, a 64-year-old man who has gone missing and is at high risk due to his Alzheimer’s. Broussard, a biracial male, was last seen on the morning of December 14th, with the Oakland Police releasing a description of the missing man; he is said to be 6 feet tall and weigh 180 pounds, sporting gray hair and brown eyes, according to the OPD news release.
The family has emphasized that, despite his Alzheimer's, Broussard maintains a good physical condition. However, the concerns for his well-being are heightened, given his medical condition. He wandered off from the vicinity of the 400 block of 63rd Street, wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray pants, and black shoes, as stated in the missing person alert. It was on Thursday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. that he was last seen by individuals who now might hold the key to his whereabouts. The family and the police are asking for anyone with information to come forward as the search intensifies.
In a community-wide effort, the Oakland Police Department is seeking the attention of residents and media partners, urging them to circulate Broussard’s information and to remain vigilant to aid in his safe return. Those who know Broussard's location are encouraged to contact the OPD's Missing Persons Unit directly; the contact number is 510-238-3641.
