Thieves hit a UPS Store in Oakley over the Christmas period, and cops are now on the hunt for the Grinch who swiped holiday packages on the most festive days of the year. According to a Facebook post by the City of Oakley, the first burglary occurred early Christmas morning at approximately 3:45 AM when a lone suspect, driving a conspicuous white lifted Ford Super Duty truck, showed up at the store on 2063 Main Street and forced entry into the business.

This individual, donning a bright orange shirt or vest paired with dark pants and gloves, a mask covering their features, was captured on camera breaking into the front door and liberating several packages from behind the counter before fleeing the scene; the truck was last seen heading west on Main Street then darting north on Bridgehead Road. The following morning, a second intrusion occurred around 4:05 AM involving a suspect wearing all dark clothing who entered through the same compromised door and helped themselves to additional packages and a small safe.

While authorities await more footage from the inside of the business and the parking lot on the 26th, they've turned to the community for assistance in tracing the truck and the culprits behind these burglaries. The public is urged to step forward with any knowledge that could lead to recovering the stolen goods and the Ford truck, noted for its missing license plates and aftermarket black wheels. Oakley Police Department's post urges anyone with information to call 925-625-8060.

If you believe your package fell victim to these holiday thefts, the UPS Store manager is available at 925-625-0221 to assist with information on the missing items and the next steps for those affected by this series of unfortunate events.
