The Oakley Police Department is currently conducting a search for a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a man on the night of December 17. According to a report from City of Oakley- City Hall, police were called to Bridgehead Road and Main Street, where they found the victim lying in the roadway beside his bicycle.

The victim, an unnamed adult male who had just finished his work shift and was cycling home, received immediate attention from the officers and emergency medical services that were called to the scene. Unfortunately, he did not survive the injuries sustained. Investigators have since reviewed digital evidence from the area and identified the car in question as a silver 2015 Toyota Camry with the California license plate #8ERS961, the registered owner, Timmy Hudson, 55, from Oakley, has been apprehended. Despite Hudson being in custody, he has not disclosed the current location of his vehicle.

Efforts by the Oakley traffic investigators to locate the Camry have included reaching out to Hudson's family, searching his residence, and canvassing local auto body repair shops. It is believed that the vehicle may have front end and windshield damage, and there's a possibility that it no longer bears the original license plates. While the immediate auto body shops have been checked, investigators know numerous such establishments are beyond the local vicinity.

In their statement, the Oakley Police Department has called for public assistance and assured confidentiality to those who come forward. "If you have any information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Hudson’s vehicle please contact Traffic Investigator Palmer at 925-625-8831 or Oakley PD Dispatch at 925-625-8060," the department stated. Additionally, they have requested the cooperation of those involved in the auto body repair industry to report if a vehicle resembling Hudson's shows up at their business.

The department has disseminated a photograph of the missing Toyota Camry that was taken before the tragic event to aid in its identification and recovery. The search continues as police work to bring closure to this case and hold the responsible parties accountable.
