Firefighters in Ojai worked swiftly to suppress a fire that erupted at Rory's place, a well-known restaurant adjoining the historic Ojai Theater. According to a post from the Ventura County Fire Department, the blaze was reported on the 100 block of East Ojai Street. The fire originated in a wall on the backside of the kitchen and was contained there without posing a threat to the adjacent theater.

A team of firefighters was immediately dispatched to the scene, whereupon they carved into the wall to access and extinguish the growing inferno. They accomplished a thorough primary and secondary search to ensure no one was in harm's way. "Firefighters have cut into the wall to access the fire," VCFD reported. "Fire appears to be contained to the rear wall of the restaurant on the back side of the kitchen. No threat to the theater", VCFD added.

The blaze was successfully knocked down by 1:22 a.m., as per subsequent updates from the fire department. Crews diligently worked on overhaul and salvage operations thereafter. The prompt and effective response of the firefighters ensured that the incident was confined to the exterior rear wall of the restaurant, preventing further damage to the structure and neighboring buildings.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident, and fire investigation officials are currently on the scene to ascertain the cause of the blaze.
