Early Sunday morning, a catastrophic three-vehicle crash on the Northeast Side left one man dead and several others injured.
The chaos unfolded just before 2:30 a.m. along the 12400 block of O'Connor Road. Witnesses looked on in horror as a black 2019 Nissan veered across the double yellow lines to collide with an oncoming truck, causing a second truck to subsequently roll over and come to a standstill on its right side. The San Antonio Police Department responded to the devastating scene. According to KSAT, the misstepping driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the site of the accident, with their identity still to be confirmed, later in the investigation.
Officials reported to Express News that two passengers from the same calamitous Nissan were transported to BAMC, bearing injuries deemed not life-threatening. The driver of the initially struck truck suffered minor bruises but found himself facing charges, not for the crash but for driving while intoxicated.
On a more fortunate note, police said the three occupants in the third truck, which had rolled over during the mayhem, were left without injury. SAPD continues its investigation.
