A tragic series of events left one person dead and three others injured in separate crashes in the Dallas area Thursday night.

The deadly incidents began with a collision between two vehicles around 10:30 p.m., near the intersection of Lancaster Road and Ann Arbor Avenue in East Oak Cliff. One car overturned and came to rest on its side in a nearby home's front yard, resulting in one fatality at the scene, while two others were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, as reported by FOX 4 News.

Shortly after that crash, a second incident occurred close by, in which a hit-and-run driver accused of fleeing the previous scene was killed in another collision at the intersection of Mentor Avenue and Frio Drive. This second crash left an additional person with non-life-threatening injuries, according to WFAA.

The suspect, driving a truck, reportedly impacted another vehicle while traveling east on Mentor Avenue. The suspect died at the scene; however, their identity has not been released. The exact location of the initial crash, which the suspect allegedly fled from, remains unknown, police stated.

Dallas police are actively investigating the cause of both crashes, none, more information about how the collisions happened was not immediately available. Witnesses or those with additional information are encouraged to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
