
A two-vehicle crash in Sunset Valley has left one person hospitalized following a Sunday morning incident. Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) and Austin fire crews were called to the scene near Sunset Valley Marketfair on Brodie Lane at approximately 11:10 a.m. on Dec. 17, according to FOX 7 Austin.
The collision, which prompted an urgent medical response, saw one individual receive CPR from medics. Officials were able to successfully revive the person, who subsequently gained a pulse before being rushed to St. David's South Austin Medical Center for further treatment. While responders attended to the immediate crisis, traffic advisories went out to encourage drivers to avoid the area or to move over and slow down if passing near the crash site, reflecting the urgent operations underway.

In addition to the person hospitalized, ATCEMS evaluated a second individual involved in the crash. This second person, however, refused EMS transport, deciding instead to seek their means following the harrowing incident. The reason for their refusal has not been disclosed.
As updates from the scene emerged, ATCEMS reported on their social media account that two ambulances and a commander were on-scene, working persistently to quickly administer life-saving procedures. No further information regarding the condition of the hospitalized individual or the circumstances leading up to the crash has been released.
Details regarding the cause of the crash or potential factors that may have contributed remain unknown as authorities continue to investigate. The affected area of Brodie Lane has since been cleared.
