While kids were unwrapping gifts by the Christmas tree, one Orange County resident got a hefty present—a winning lottery ticket valued at over $2 million. The ticket, according to lottery officials, was sold at the Donut Storr, located on Knott Drive in Anaheim, making holiday dreams a reality for one fortunate local.
This "Christmas present worth $2.08 million" could've been a staggering $638 million—had the winner also matched the Powerball number. The winning numbers were 5, 12, 20, 24, and 29, but the purchaser narrowly missed out on the Powerball of 4, KTLA reported. And now, the ever-growing jackpot is estimated to quickly swirl up to a jaw-dropping $685 million.
The California Lottery disclosed the news of the win on its X account. There, it was declared that the jackpot had now rolled over, with the next chance for players to strike it rich scheduled for the upcoming Wednesday draw.

Out of the many players, 141,939 tickets sold in California were branded as winners in one way or another, as noted by the official Powerball website. For those looking to test their luck, Powerball tickets still go for the same old two bucks, and drawings are set to take place thrice a week—every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday promptly at 7:59 p.m.
