
Flames engulfed a Laguna Hills home last night as firefighters battled to save an elderly couple and prevent the blaze from devouring the entire residence. The emergency command center received several distress calls shortly before 9 PM regarding a fire in the 25000 block of Mawson Dr., with responders rushing to the scene amidst the chaos.
According to an Orange County Fire Authority post, the fire originated in the home's garage and was swiftly escalating, with Sheriff’s deputies already on the site attempting to evacuate the imperiled couple. Fire crews launched an assault on the relentless flames while assisting the deputies to ensure that the victims were safely out of harm's path.

The response team managed to contain the fire, averting a total disaster as it threatened to spread into the living areas. With precision and teamwork, they ensured that the structure remained mostly intact and verified the complete evacuation of the premises.
First responders provided advanced life support to the couple and transported them to an area hospital for further treatment, confirming their condition as stable. The family's dog was also found unharmed outside of the home. As of now, fire investigators remain on the scene, and the cause of the conflagration remains a mystery pending further investigation.
