Chaos erupted in the quiet streets of Rancho Cucamonga early Christmas Eve when two Riverside men took deputies on a wild chase in a stolen motorhome before holing up inside the vehicle once it crashed. Tristan Althizer, 28, and Ryan Archuleta Dunbar, 36, now face a slew of charges following their arrest, according to authorities.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department detailed that deputies attempted to pull over the RV at around 1:26 a.m., but the driver, later identified as Althizer, gunned it, sparking the pursuit. "The driver attempted to ram his vehicle into several patrol cars and drove his vehicle in reverse," a statement released by the department said, as detailed in a report by KTLA. The chase involved several reckless maneuvers, including wrong-way driving, until the driver finally crashed the motorhome onto a central median.

The post-crash standoff took place at the intersection of Banyan Street and Haven Avenue, where both Althizer and Dunbar refused to exit the crippled vehicle. In response, the Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division swarmed the area and eventually took the men into custody. No deputies sustained injuries.

San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department has encouraged the public to come forward with any relevant information. "Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the Rancho Cucamonga Station at 909-477-2800," said Deputy P. Mora in the press release cited by Nixle.
