Earlier today, law enforcement arrested a man after a burglary alarm brought them to a car wash in Redwood City, California. According to a press release by the Redwood City Police Department, the suspect triggered an alert at the Self Serve Car Wash at 305 Woodside Road around 1:00 A.M.
Responding to the signal, the Redwood City Police worked with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, who contributed a deputy and a canine to secure the scene. They executed an efficient operation upon receiving information from the alarmed company that a masked suspect was confirmed to be inside the equipment room. Officers set a perimeter and waited for the suspect, who was misleadingly found on the roof.
The Redwood City Fire Department joined the fray, providing a necessary ladder so officers could access the roof Top to make the arrest. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Redwood City resident Miguel Antonio Aguilar Sariba, was booked at the San Mateo County Jail on charges of commercial burglary and possession of burglary tools deemed illegal.
The cooperation between city departments was pivotal in resolving the incident promptly. "The Redwood City Police Department appreciates the help we received from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and the Redwood City Fire Department," stated Lieutenant Nick Perna, Investigations Commander at the Redwood City Police Department, warmly expressed in a statement, with the efforts resulting in the booking of the suspect.
