Last week, the anxious search for the missing 21-year-old came to a hopeful conclusion as the family exclaimed, "Thank you to everyone who spread the word," urging for privacy in a dateless statement provided by Atlanta News First. Prior to her being found, Omotosho's mother Mo Oyebisi Badaus, expressed her distress over her daughter's disappearance, with the only lifeline being her belief that Laura had simply gone for one of her habitual drives, " 'I'll be back, I promise' – that's what's stuck in my head."
Oyebisi Badaus related to Atlanta News First, saying her daughter was experiencing "mental distress" and felt the need to take a drive, something she was known for. Community efforts to locate the student included distributing flyers throughout Cobb County, where Omotosho used to live, and was last seen driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla with a conspicuous cracked windshield.
Her sister Lauren, told Hoodline of the family's ordeal, "Just a lot of confusion around this time. It’s so weird for a car to go untraceable, and her phone to be dead this whole time. It’s really concerning." Details surrounding the circumstances of Omotosho's return were not disclosed, but the relief felt by her loved ones was palpable as they thanked those involved in the search.
Before her studies at Georgia State University, Omotosho was a lacrosse athlete at Delaware State University.
