The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is establishing a DUI checkpoint in the City of San Jacinto, slated to activate on December 22, 2023. Residents of San Jacinto can expect officers to be on the lookout for impaired drivers starting at 7:00 p.m. to the small hours at 2:00 a.m., at a location yet to be disclosed.
The spot for this intervention has been chosen based on where the numbers have shown crashes tinged with the stain of substances. "Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk," said Sergeant Patrick Lynch, revealing the mission's intention to press pause on potential tragedy by removing from circulation those who've made their wheels an extension of their reckless indulgence, as he informed the press, including the details posted on the Riverside County Sheriff's official website.
Those who cross that line into DUI territory are met with a charge of an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties and a suspended license.
