The Riverside County authorities have arrested nine individuals suspected of coordinating efforts to introduce narcotics into correctional facilities. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office staged a series of searches across the county, seizing weapons and drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.
On December 19th, the Sheriff's office teamed up with several task forces and the Special Enforcement Bureau K-9 team to execute multiple search warrants and probation searches. Their efforts yielded three handguns, a rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a ballistic vest, brass knuckles, and significant quantities of narcotics. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects stood accused of funneling such contraband to inmates already inside the jail walls.
Among those arrested were John Cox of Menifee, Richard Johnson of Perris, and Francisco Rodriguez from Riverside, all incarcerated on unrelated charges but now facing additional counts related to the drug smuggling conspiracy. Antoinette Dudding of Riverside faces not only conspiracy charges but also transportation of narcotics and child endangerment. Other individuals, including Tabitha Longoria, Randy Carey, Roy Earnest, Matthew Smith, and Wendy Wilson were also apprehended on various related offenses.
The operation forms part of a sustained effort to thwart the flow of drugs into jails, a task vigorously pursued by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. Education programs spearheaded by the Detention Health Services Division are also employed to inform inmates about the risks associated with drug use, highlighting the lethal dangers of substances like fentanyl.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office encourages anyone with information pertinent to this investigation to contact Investigator Art Rodriguez directly.
