Condor Airlines will be the carrier of choice, with the Airbus A330-900neo aircraft to shuttle passengers. Fares are seemingly competitive, with a round-trip ticket starting from just under a grand.
Evidently boasting more pep than your usual government update, the city's officials have gone out of their way to share this news far and wide. Meanwhile, Greater: SATX, a private-public nonprofit, is making some bold economic strides of their own. They've chalked up big wins in 2023, including attracting JCB, which vows to bring in over 1,500 jobs and boasts a staggering $30 billion in expected economic impact over ten years, according to statements from the nonprofit shared by KSAT.
It seems like San Antonio is not just looking to transform solely into a travel node but also a hotbed for diverse industries. In a planned effort to diversify, Greater: SATX has its sights set to tackle markets in high-tech manufacturing, aerospace, biosciences, and financial services in 2024. "We always ensure that we are targeting a diverse group of industries because that really positions San Antonio much stronger," Greater SATX's Chief Business Advancement Officer Romanita Matta-Barrera told KSAT.
