San Antonio residents woke up to damp streets and a light drizzle this morning, with the National Weather Service reporting showers likely before noon, accompanied by patchy fog in the late morning. In a forecast update, temperatures recorded at San Antonio's Kelly Field stood at 56°F, with humidity levels high at 86% and visibility reduced to five miles in some areas. "Showers likely, mainly before noon," noted the National Weather Service, cautioning that new precipitation amounts could range between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
The chilly conditions are expected to persist throughout the day, as the thermometer will struggle to reach a high near 59°F. Winds are projected to come from the east-northeast at 15 to 20 mph, occasionally gusting up to 25 mph. According to KSAT, "The rain will pick up in coverage and intensity as the day rolls on," providing a consistent soak over the city, with temperatures stubbornly remaining in the mid-50s.
Thursday's forecast is marginally brighter with mostly cloudy skies but with only a slight chance of showers, and high temperatures are to mildly climb into the low 60s. "Tomorrow we'll see just a few showers and highs in the low 60s," a KSAT weather update describes, suggesting a brief respite from the more persistent rains.
Rainfall is to make a significant comeback on Friday, with showers and potential storms on the horizon. "When it's all said and done, we'll see half to an inch of rain on average around the area," forecasts KSAT. As the week winds down, nightly lows will dip to around 49°F, with the winds shifting north and potentially gusting as high as 25 mph.
Looking ahead to the weekend, San Antonio is eagerly anticipating a clear and sunny respite from the precipitation. "Things clear out nicely for the weekend and temperatures will lean toward the cooler side," confirms KSAT's forecast. Highs on Saturday should hover around 61°F, with the winds continuing from the north, ensuring a brisk but pleasant outdoor experience after several days of gloom and wetness.
