A pedestrian pushing a cart was left injured after a driver lost control and collided with him at a Westside San Antonio intersection, authorities reported. According to the San Antonio Police Department, the accident occurred Tuesday night near Old Tezel Rd. and Guilbeau Rd. Around 9 p.m., a 62-year-old driver hit the pedestrian, who was then rushed to University Hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, as noted by FOX San Antonio.
In a related report by KENS 5, the pedestrian in question, a man, had lost control of his cart at the intersection prior to being struck by the SUV. SAPD patrol officers responding to the scene near Old Tezel Road, and Guilbeau Road at around 9:07 p.m. found the man and facilitated his transport to the hospital.
The driver involved in the incident reportedly stayed at the scene to assist the injured pedestrian and called for emergency services.
