Parents and kids in San Mateo County must find a new spot for fun and games, as the Eucalyptus Playground at Coyote Point is now off-limits. Following what was described as a "routine safety inspection," officials have barred entry to the playground, citing the need for repairs and replacements on parts of the structure.
San Mateo County Parks confirmed the closure due to safety concerns highlighted by their certified playground safety inspectors. “Portions of the playground require repair and replacement,” the Parks department stated on their official website, putting a temporary halt to the giggles and high-pitched excitement that usually resonate through the Eucalyptus Area at Coyote Point Recreational Area. While they are consulting with play structure experts to resolve the issues, the county has yet to announce a timeline for when the playground will be ready to welcome back its little adventurers.
For updated information on the closure and repair progress, San Mateo County Parks encourages the public to visit their website. There, they will post any new developments, including an anticipated re-opening date, as soon as it is available.
